Meet The Furriendly Team
Leah Colvin
Staff Manager · Dog Walker · Pet Sitter
Leah grew up inside the world of animal care. Her grandfather is a veterinarian, and she spent her childhood at his animal hospital surrounded by cats, dogs, and horses. When she realized the hospital didn’t offer boarding, she began caring for animals at her own home — the spark that became her career. In 2018, she became a Veterinary Technician at Parkway Animal Hospital, where she handled hands-on medical and daily care. Today she manages the Furriendly Critter Sitters team and is certified through Pet Sitters International, training every sitter to be ready for any situation.
Clients say Leah treats their pets — fur, feather, or scale — like her own, and looks after their home and anything else they need. Patient, responsible, and trustworthy, she’s the kind of sitter who becomes family. At home she has Zip, an Australian Shepherd–Blue Heeler mix, and Remy, her pint-sized Chihuahua guard dog. Between visits, you’ll usually find her at the beach.
Alexandra Hernandez
Social Media Manager
Alexandra is the storyteller behind Furriendly Critter Sitters. As Social Media Manager, she captures the photos, videos, and updates that keep pet parents connected to their pets while they’re away. She grew up around chickens and has always loved animals, and working alongside the company’s professional sitters has deepened her appreciation for what reliable pet care really means.
Alexandra isn’t a sitter herself — she works behind the scenes — but she partners closely with the care team and continually learns about pet safety and best practices. Her focus is helping families feel informed, connected, and confident, and showcasing the personality of every pet the team looks after. Clients love that her updates let them look back on those little moments long after they happen.
Michael Patrick Gannaway
Pet Sitter
For Michael, pet sitting is the dream job that came looking for him. He grew up on a horse farm where caring for animals was simply part of daily life, and traveled the country with his mother on the AKC dog-show circuit — including Westminster. That lifelong, hands-on experience shows: at ten years old he calmly freed a spooked, tangled colt from a gate, speaking softly until he could lead it to safety — a story that captures his steady presence under pressure.
Michael has completed multiple courses through his work in pet care, medical care, emergency pet care, and handling finicky pets. He’s known for being dependable and a stickler for detail — and the animals love him. He shares his home with two chihuahua-terrier mixes, Lippy and Orbit, raised like farm dogs who love swimming and kayaking. A lifelong space enthusiast living near Cape Canaveral, Michael sees a real need for trustworthy care in Florida, especially for retirees, and he’s ready to help.
Rodney Weatherspoon
Pet Sitter · Veterinary Technician
Rodney pairs a lifelong love of animals with real clinical training. He’s a working Veterinary Technician with three to four years of professional pet sitting experience, which means he knows exactly what to do when a visit calls for more than the routine. He’s certified, and he learns something new about dogs and cats every day in veterinary medicine — knowledge he brings to every booking.
A military kid who spent two years of elementary school overseas in Turkey, Rodney is adaptable and steady. At home he has Sampson, his Old English Bulldog. He does this work for the love of it, and that shows in the care he gives.
